I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii on an organic farm. All my siblings were born and home and I always considered home birth to be the norm. As a college student on Oahu I started to apprentice with a Naturopath Midwife; thats where it all began. From there I went on to apprentice with a Midwife on Maui. After that I ended up in southern Mexico, in a what was small town called Tulum. There I apprenticed with other midwives, while helping to build up a birth center called the Osa Mayor and learn other traditional Mexican healing arts. I also began my academic journey through an accredited college of Midwifery, National Midwifery Institute. I traveled to Africa for birth work as well as in a busy Better Birth Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Now I am a Licensed, certified professional midwife (CPM) and practice in my home town of Hoókena, on the Big Island of Hawaií. I am a mother of two boys age 2 and 12, both of which I birthed at home.

Birth is Sacred

Birth is sacred, it is wholy it is wise. Birth belongs in the hands of the mothers, surrounded by loved ones who honor and support her. The moment a woman gives birth she becomes a mother, she steps into a brand new expression of herself, she is reborn. Each time a woman brings forth life from her womb she is shaping humanity. Birth is life, birth is the most powerful moment in a woman's life. Birth should be full of praise and thanksgiving. Birth is absolutely a sacred moment. We must remember. We must bring back the sacred, one birth at a time.

Mother blessing

Gather with other woman to bless the mother as she prepares for one of the most sacred days of her life, her birth.

I run the ceremony by opening and closing the portal of a sacred space, I provide a floral foot bath and scrub, weaving of a web of intentions for mother as well as other short activities.

cost: $250 plus supplies

cost: pregnancy tea $12

Join other couples, along with your midwife to learn how to manage labor better and answer any of your doubts about birth

cost: $300 per couple (8 hr course)
